Click funnels play a crucial role in digital marketing and sales by guiding visitors through a strategic customer journey and encouraging them to take actions that achieve a company’s business objectives. And ClickFunnels is a brand name that has become synonymous with building sales and marketing funnels for your online business.
Besides funnels, you can also create websites, design signup forms, and run email campaigns.
After we cover all the features ClickFunnels offers, we’ll explain how your business can benefit from this tool and share examples of companies that use it to generate sales or acquire leads.
Let’s begin by understanding the concept of a sales funnel.
How Does a Sales Funnel Work?
A sales funnel refers to the process through which users are guided from being aware of a product or service to eventually making a purchase or taking a desired action. The stages of a digital sales funnel are similar to those in a traditional sales funnel but are adapted to the online world.
The typical stages of a sales funnel are:
- Awareness: In this stage, potential customers become aware of a product, service, or brand through various digital channels such as social media platforms, search engines, online advertisements, or email marketing campaigns.
- Interest: Once aware, users may develop an interest in the offer. They may visit the website, explore product pages, or sign up for email newsletters to learn more.
- Consideration: At this stage, users actively consider whether the product or service meets their needs and preferences. They will compare features, read reviews, watch demonstrations, or engage with customer support to address any queries or concerns.
- Action: The action stage is where users convert by completing the desired action.
- Loyalty: Post-purchase, it’s critical to build loyalty to your business. Send content that would benefit customers, like tips and tricks, loyalty offers, and product announcements.
- Advocacy: Word of mouth remains the most powerful form of marketing. In this stage, your customers will recommend your company to people they know.
Marketers can use various digital marketing tactics such as search engine optimization (SEO), content marketing, social media marketing, email marketing, and PPC ads to drive customers toward landing pages or click funnels.
What is a Click Funnel?
A “click funnel” is a term that refers to a sequence of web pages or steps designed to guide visitors through a specific process, typically leading them toward a desired action. Click funnels are used in digital marketing and sales to optimize the customer journey and maximize conversions.
The term “click funnel” is derived from the idea that each click a visitor makes on a webpage represents a step in the funnel, with the ultimate goal of leading them to complete the final step, which is counted as a conversion.
Throughout the click funnel, marketers use various strategies and tactics to optimize conversion rates and maximize the effectiveness of each step. This may include A/B testing different elements of the funnel, optimizing page load times, and improving the clarity of messaging.
How a Click Funnel Works
A click funnel consists of these elements:
- Click source: The visitor clicks on a web banner, search engine result, social media ad, or other online content that directs them to the first page of the funnel.
- Landing page: The first page of the funnel, known as the landing page, is designed to capture the visitor’s attention and encourage them to take the next step. This page often includes compelling copy, persuasive images, and a call-to-action (CTA) that prompts the visitor to proceed further into the funnel.
- Sales page: After clicking through the initial landing page, the visitor is presented with additional information about the product, service, or offer. This page can include details about features, benefits, pricing, testimonials, and other relevant information — this persuades visitors to take action.
- Conversion: The final step of the click funnel is the conversion point, where the visitor completes the desired action, such as making a purchase, filling out a form, or subscribing to a service.
As you can see, the click funnel is a carefully planned digital journey and not just a simple landing page with a CTA button at the bottom. And that’s why…

Using Lead Magnets to Drive ClickFunnel Conversions
A good lead magnet is critical, but you need to pay equal attention to your strategy.
A lead magnet is not a new concept; it is something valuable you offer to potential customers for free in exchange for their contact information, like an ebook or a webinar. In short, you can use them to build an engaged subscriber list, which is invaluable for email professionals.
What if we told you there was a way to achieve 8X the signups of a typical lead magnet? We’re not joking about those numbers — it’s 100% possible.
The Lead Magnet Multiplier program, a short 4-video course teaches you the psychology of using your lead magnets effectively and shares pro tips on convincing leads to sign up for your content. The course is completely free once you register, but we added a clause: You MUST finish the course in seven days, or you’ll be cut off from accessing it (until you email us again). This rule is just to ensure only keen email marketers sign up for this superb course!

ClickFunnels Examples
As one of the most popular options in the industry, plenty of marketers use ClickFunnels to generate leads and sales for their business. Here are the top ones.
Content Multiplier Formula Click Funnel Example
Peng Joon is easily one of the biggest promoters of ClickFunnels and is frequently mentioned on their website. Content Multiplier Formula is one of his programs that uses ClickFunnels.
The program website is a masterclass in creating a great click funnel. It starts off with customer testimonials and social proof and offers a CTA button, right off the bat. It also adds a critical pitch here — it claims you only have to pay for shipping, and you get the book for free.
The next page displays all the marketing influencers Joon has interacted with, establishing his credibility as an expert on content marketing.
The next page sums up the benefits of the book and adds yet another CTA button. The goal of the content here is to describe a situation that is relatable and compelling.
Next, we have a page that talks about people who have used the content from this book to change their lives. The testimonials include graphs, statistics, and links to businesses.
Lastly, we have a money-back guarantee. Joon even claims you don’t have to return the book. At this point, he offers one last CTA button to seal the deal!
“Funnel Hacking Secrets” Click Funnel Example
The Funnel Hacking Secrets website, created by Russell Brunson, co-founder of ClickFunnels, uses interesting tactics to get you to sign up for his webinar. It consists of just three pages, so let’s break this down.
The site gets right down to business. It offers you radio buttons to describe your situation, which helps the funnel classify you into different lists. You can then add your email address and there is also a checkbox for an SMS alert, which means you must submit a phone number. The CTA is compelling.
The second page establishes credibility by mentioning well-known media platforms Russell has been featured on. It also tells you more about the program and gives insight into the benefits of attending the webinar. You also have a countdown timer creating urgency, telling you how soon the class is going to start.
Next, you have the third and final page of the site, which uses minimal content and a CTA button for interested leads to sign up.
“I Will Teach You To Be Rich” Click Funnel Example
This website, operated by popular social media entrepreneur, Ramit Sethi, has the same name as his best-selling book. “I Will Teach You To Be Rich” is a group of programs Ramit created for career-oriented professionals as well as people who want to set up their own businesses. We compiled images of the latter, which uses ClickFunnels.
The landing page immediately mentions the purpose and sets expectations correctly. For people who already know about the program, he offers a “Ready to Buy?” link in the corner, so subscribers can directly skip to the bottom of this long page. Note that the page contains a lot of content, so we will only share the most interesting pages.
Here, Ramit mentions the highlights of his course. He also makes promises about how much you can expect to earn once you finish the course. This encourages readers to keep scrolling.
Ramit then sells yet more imagery of what your earning potential could look like. He shares his own story here, which is convincing for a person looking to earn along the same lines.
Time to share evidence! Here you see images of businesses run by students who finished the program.
Finally, the CTA. Interestingly, the page does not use a CTA anywhere, except at the end. This is most likely because Ramit wants readers to read through the entire page, for the CTA to have maximum impact. It is one of the better examples of ClickFunnels use we found.
James Clear’s ClickFunnels Example
James Clear is the author of the well-known self-improvement book, Atomic Habits. He uses ClickFunnels on his site to attract subscribers to his email list.
And what does he use as a lead magnet? The first chapter of his book, of course. Anyone interested in the book and curious to know what the hype is all about would immediately sign up.
The second page mentions his email course, where James promises to help you change your habits in just 30 days. The page sets expectations by listing benefits and also adds that you’ll only receive an email once every three days. This click funnel is minimal, clean, and incredibly effective.
“Make Him Yours” Click Funnel Example
This is a website built around the book, Make Him Yours, which targets women who seek romantic relationships. The site offers advice to this demographic and is operated by Mark Rosenfeld, an Australian dating coach. He offers multiple programs to interested subscribers and shares different CTAs throughout the pages, making this a great ClickFunnel example.
Readers are introduced to the programs as soon as the page loads, wasting no time.
The first page highlights Mark’s most premium service — his one-on-one coaching program for women. He also mentions that this is for a small group of select clientele, creating a sense of exclusivity.
Next, he shares a link to his community of women who share a common interest, which is an attractive option for subscribers looking for dating advice or those who want to discuss issues/ideas.
Next up, he offers a text-based service where interested subscribers can discuss their issues and get advice from Mark over SMSs. He also shares an image of what a typical conversation would look like, which can be compelling for a subscriber to hit the CTA button.
Mark also shares a link to his book, the reason behind his fame. He uses two CTAs here, which is an interesting strategy — either he gets a sale, or he gets a lead, which is clever!
The final page offers a course for those looking to become relationship coaches. This funnel is probably the priciest service here but promises an earning potential of $10,000 a month.
